Salone Sehgal

Founding General Partner

Salone Sehgal is the world's first female General Partner of an interactive media and games VC fund. She co-founded Lumikai Fund, India's first early-stage interactive media VC, anchored by the world's largest media and gaming conglomerates. She has 15+ years of experience as a global new media VC, former games entrepreneur, and ex M&A banker/PE specialist, working alongside companies from seed to IPO.

Previously, she was Principal at London Venture Partners (LVP), Europe's pioneering seed-stage interactive media VC where she was involved in investment management, fund strategy, fundraising, and portfolio growth working with multiple companies in the interactive media ecosystem across the spectrum of content, platform and technology/infrastructure bets.

She was also CEO & Co-founder of TrulySocial, a venture-backed mobile gaming company building an immersive, narrative based social world for global female audiences. She led the overall company vision, product design, commercial growth, fundraising and go-to-marketing strategy, striking up novel partnerships with global strategics, celebrities, influencers and brands to drive distribution.

Prior to that, she left her career in finance as Vice-president, Barclays Global COO Office leading digital strategy and business development, with previous experience in Investment Banking with Morgan Stanley. She has executed $10B of M&A transactions.

Salone has been recognised as Top 30 Women in Mobile, Top 50 Women Gamechangers, Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech, 100 Trailblazers in AVGC India, Exceptional World Talent in Technology by Tech City UK, Iconic Women Leaders by WEF and served as Jury Member, BAFTA Games Awards.

Salone serves as a Charter Member of TIE, on the VC committee in IAMAI, and several task groups for CII, India Digital Gaming Society, and AVGC.

Salone is a renowned thought leader and has served as a keynote speaker at various international forums particularly on "Investing in the Interactive Media Industry". She has an MBA from IESE Business School, Spain.

She loves deconstructing game genres for female audiences and has enjoyed playing Fable, The Witcher 3, Civilisation to more recently Covet Fashion, Design Home, and Her Story.
